Read rules for visitors

The opening hours and admission prices are posted in the entrance area. Smoking is not permitted in the museum. Animals may not be brought into the museum (permission will be granted for guide dogs for the blind upon request). Skateboards, scooters, in-line skates and bicycles are not permitted. Backpacks, larger bags, bulky items, umbrellas, walking sticks, selfie sticks, camera tripods and baby/child-carrier backpacks must either be locked up or left with the cloakroom – whenever there is uncertainty, the decision will be made by the visitor service staff. Medically necessary walking aids are exempt from this rule. The cloakroom is not liable for items that are placed in the lockers. A fee of five euros will be charged for the loss of a locker key.

In consideration of other visitors, we ask that you avoid making noise or speaking loudly. Mobile phones must be switched to silent mode in the collection and exhibition rooms. No phone calls may be made in these rooms. We are particularly pleased when we receive young visitors, and we ask that their guardians ensure that the exhibits are not endangered, and that they are considerate to other visitors. Groups of kids and school children may only visit the exhibition rooms while under the supervision of an adult. This adult shall be responsible for the children. Running, shouting, screaming and throwing toys are prohibited. Corridors and emergency exits must not be obstructed. Emergency exits may only be used in the event of an emergency.
